When the right way feels steep—Jesus still leads on the narrow path.
When the way feels narrow and steep
A quiet read beside the Sermon on the Mount—not a scolding. Jesus said the way to life is narrow, and He helps us walk it one step at a time.
Read-aloud
Some days the easy road looks wide and loud—everyone else seems to be on it. Jesus told His friends something honest: the gate that leads to life is strait, and the way is narrow. That does not mean God is trying to make life harder. It means following Jesus is not always the crowd’s path. You do not have to walk it alone.
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13–14 (KJV)
One small step of obedience today is enough. Build on Jesus’ words like a house on rock—not perfect, just listening.
Gentle question
What is one small true thing we can do today because Jesus is leading us?
Short prayer together
Lord Jesus, the way feels narrow sometimes. Walk beside us. Help us hear Your words and build on them. Amen.
