Daytime table—when thanks was almost forgotten.
When I forgot to say thank you
A quiet read beside the ten lepers—pairs with Simple Thanks and mealtime thankfulness.
Read-aloud
Sometimes Jesus does something kind for us—food on the table, help when we felt sick, a safe ordinary day. Ten men were healed in the story. Nine hurried on. Only one turned back.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks. Luke 17:15–16 (KJV)
At our table we can be like that one man—stop for a moment and remember who opened His hand for this day, this bread, this breath.
Gentle question
What is one thing today that shows Jesus was kind to us?
Short prayer together
Dear Lord, thank You for opening Your hand to us today. Help us remember to come back and say thank You, like the one man who returned. Amen.
Coloring idea
One man turning back, hands raised in thanks. Color & Tell → Ten lepers (look for the one who came back). Or Verse Image → Open Bible on the table (T16).
