The University of Overwhelm (one page)

You’re already welcome here—print what helps; skip the rest without guilt.

Six anchor verses match the opening week of Battle Plans—fifteen more days continue on the device for a full twenty-one-day porch. One verse per block here; open the plan for today’s step and prayer.

Day 1 — Thou knewest my path

Psalm 142:3

When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.

Swirl seen; traps named without theater.

Day 2 — Come unto me

Matthew 11:28

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Invitation before performance; laboured is honorable here.

Day 3 — Comfort when thoughts multiply

Psalm 94:19

In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

Many thoughts; mercy still delights the soul.

Day 4 — Casting all your care

1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

All counts; throw upward with dignity.

Day 5 — Not distressed

2 Corinthians 4:8

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Pressed named; hopeless contested.

Day 6 — Wait-only upon God

Psalm 62:5

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

Wait-only quiets frantic committees.
