Sleep in peace

Psalm 4:8

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

The year does not have to be tied up before your head hits the pillow—only handed to Him again.

Rest for the soul

Matthew 11:28–30

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Not a busier January—one gentler yoke, one truer Teacher.

Kept in perfect peace

Isaiah 26:3

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

A stayed mind is allowed to be a quiet one—not a solved one.

Peace of God, not performance

Philippians 4:6–7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Requests first; peace follows—even when the list still looks long on paper.

Casting every care
