We want children and adults to learn the Word and draw near to Jesus — with clear labels and thankful credit. This page is our promise about how Scripture works on the site.
How we use the Bible (our constitution)
Why this site exists: so people can know Jesus Christ, trust His Word, and find life in Him — one honest verse at a time, without noise or performance.
- KJV is the truth on this site. The King James Version is our primary Scripture: what we quote, memorize, plan from, teach from, and check for accuracy.
- BBE helps you understand it. The Bible in Basic English is optional simpler English for the same verse — a bridge for kids, new readers, and tired minds. It never replaces the KJV and is never labeled as KJV.
- Same reference always. If you see KJV John 3:16, any BBE line under it is also John 3:16 — never a different passage.
- Plain teaching is third. Short “what it means” lines are our porch words, not a Bible translation. They sit under Scripture, not above it.
We build fail-safes and human review so the Word stays accurate. Our hope is that someone meets Jesus here and is saved — not that we win an argument about tools.

Every main verse on Today’s Daily Battle is shown from the King James Version.
The KJV is in the public domain in the United States. We label it KJV so you always know what you are reading.

Optional simpler English — Bible in Basic English (BBE)
Where it helps children, new readers, or anyone who wants plainer words, we may offer a second line labeled In simpler words (BBE).
That text is from the Bible in Basic English, a whole-Bible translation that uses a limited, everyday vocabulary. It is offered as a bridge to understanding — not a replacement for the KJV, and never labeled as KJV.
The BBE was printed in 1965 by Cambridge University Press in England without a copyright notice and distributed in America; it is widely treated as public domain in the United States. We are thankful for that gift to the church.

Simple layman terms (our porch teaching)
Simple layman terms on this site are short teaching lines written for Today’s Daily Battle — plain meaning and gentle application, not a full alternate Bible translation. They sit under the KJV and under optional BBE so Scripture wording leads, then a gentle unpacking if you open it.

Our hope is simple: that kids and adults understand the Word, meet Jesus, and take one faithful step — without confusion about sources, and with thanks to those who made free plain-English Scripture available.
Spanish Scripture on this site
Spanish pages quote Reina-Valera 1909 (public domain). We do not use Reina-Valera 1960: that edition is not public domain. The main English Bible tool remains KJV.
Language Bibles used for today’s verse
Language homes look up the same official UTC book, chapter, and verse as English. We store a public-domain or openly licensed Bible for that language, flatten it to a verse map, and grab the day’s reference. The English line on those pages is still KJV. We flattened texts for lookup (verse keys like the KJV map); that is an adaptation, not a new translation.
JSON copies of several of these texts were received through HelloAO’s Free Use Bible API and eBible.org. Almeida 1911 came through getBible.net. We are thankful for that distribution work.

Indonesian
We do not store a public-domain Indonesian full Bible. The only complete modern Indonesian editions we found are copyrighted (Terjemahan Baru) or non-commercial (AYT). Indonesian pages stay. The official day’s verse there is the King James Version (public domain in the United States), labeled as KJV — not leftover rotating verses. We do not use Terjemahan Baru.
